ScoobyPaw AI

Terms of Use

Open full page ↗

In short: ScoobyPaw AI is free for pet parents. It helps you understand your pet's records, find vets and book visits, but it is not a vet - for anything serious or urgent, contact a veterinarian. Your care, fees and appointments are between you and the clinic you choose. Use the app honestly and keep your password safe.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Scoobycares for using ScoobyPaw AI at scoobypawai.scoobycares.com ("the app"). By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. These terms are only for pet parents using ScoobyPaw AI; they are separate from the terms for clinics that use Scoobycares software.

2. Who can use it

  • You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement under Indian law.
  • Give true details. One account per person; it is linked to your mobile number.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

3. What the app does

  • Shows your pets and their records from Scoobycares clinics where you are a pet parent.
  • Lets you ask ScoobyPaw AI questions by text or voice in several languages.
  • Lists clinics that chose to appear in "Find a vet", and lets you join a clinic and book in-clinic visits, online consultations or home visits where the clinic offers them.
  • Lets you choose whether a new clinic can see your pet's history from other clinics.

The app is free for pet parents. Fees for vet services are set and charged by the clinic, not by us.

4. Early access

Before public launch, you can register but the app may open only for some people. We may change, add or remove features, or pause the app for maintenance. We will try to give notice of major changes.

5. ScoobyPaw AI is not a vet

ScoobyPaw AI gives general information and explains records. It does not diagnose, prescribe or replace an examination by a registered veterinarian. Answers can be wrong or incomplete, including translations. Never delay or ignore veterinary advice because of something ScoobyPaw said. In an emergency, contact a vet immediately. Read the full AI disclaimer.

6. Clinics and bookings

  • Clinics are independent businesses. Each clinic is responsible for its own care, advice, prices, timings, cancellations, refunds and records.
  • A booking is a request to the clinic; the clinic may confirm, change or decline it.
  • Clinic details in "Find a vet" are provided by the clinics. A listing is not an endorsement or guarantee by Scoobycares.
  • Complaints about treatment or charges should go to the clinic first. We will help where we can.

7. Fair use

You agree not to:

  • use the app for anything unlawful, or to harass, mislead or harm anyone, including animals;
  • try to see another person's or clinic's data, or get around security, rate limits or the sharing rules;
  • upload malicious files, or content you have no right to share;
  • copy, scrape or resell the app or its answers in bulk, or use automated tools against it.

8. Your content and ours

What you write and upload stays yours. You let us use it only to run the app for you, as the Privacy Policy explains. The app, the ScoobyPaw name and character, the Scoobycares logo and our software belong to Scoobycares.

9. Messages

We send messages needed for your account (for example sign-in codes and booking updates). Launch and update messages on WhatsApp and email are sent only if you agreed, and you can stop them at any time. Clinics may message you about your bookings and pets.

10. Closing your account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time - see Your data & account deletion. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

11. Limits of our responsibility

We work to keep the app accurate and available, but it is provided "as is". To the extent Indian law allows, Scoobycares is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for decisions about your pet's health made using the app, or for the services, advice or charges of clinics. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be waived.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact our Grievance Officer first - most issues are sorted quickly. If not, disputes are subject to the courts of India, and you may also approach a consumer commission.

13. Grievance Officer and contact

Ratna Raju Kololagi, Founder, Scoobycares
Email: ratnakololagi@scoobycares.com · Phone / WhatsApp: +91 97410 68445
We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.

14. Changes to these terms

If we make an important change we will show it in the app and update the date above. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.

Privacy Policy

In short: we collect what ScoobyPaw AI needs to help you and your pet - your name, phone number, your pets and the questions you ask. We never sell your data. A clinic sees only what you share with it. Your pet's history moves between clinics only if you allow it and the clinic that wrote it allows it. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

1. Who we are

ScoobyPaw AI is a free pet parent app and AI pet care assistant run by Scoobycares ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use ScoobyPaw AI at scoobypawai.scoobycares.com. It is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and its Rules, and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

For ScoobyPaw AI, Scoobycares is the Data Fiduciary: we decide why and how your data is used in the app. Your pet's medical records are written by the vet clinics you visit; each clinic is responsible for the records it keeps, and we store them for the clinic on Scoobycares.

2. What we collect

WhatWhy we need it
Account details - name, mobile number, email (optional), password (stored only as a one-way hash)To create your account, sign you in, reset your password and contact you about your account.
Your pets - name, species, breed, gender, age, weight and similar details you or your clinic addTo show your pets, answer questions about them and book visits.
Records from your clinics - visits, vaccinations, prescriptions, lab reports and bills recorded by clinics where you are a pet parentTo show your pet's history in one place and answer questions from it.
Questions to ScoobyPaw - what you type or say, the answers, the language you chose and chat titlesTo answer you, keep your chats so you can come back to them, and keep the service safe.
Bookings and clinics you joinTo send your booking to the clinic and show it to you.
Your location - only when you tap "near me"To list vets near you. It is used for that search and is not saved to your account.
Launch and update messages - whether you ticked "message me"To send the WhatsApp/email you asked for. You can stop it at any time.
Technical data - IP address, browser, device, pages opened, error logsTo keep the app secure, stop abuse (for example too many login attempts) and fix problems.

We do not ask for Aadhaar, PAN, bank or card details in ScoobyPaw AI. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies in ScoobyPaw AI - only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and protect forms.

When you register we ask for your consent separately for: (a) using your and your pets' data to run ScoobyPaw AI as described here, and (b) launch and update messages on WhatsApp and email, which is optional. You can withdraw consent at any time as easily as you gave it - untick "message me" on the launch page, or send us one message (see section 11). Withdrawing consent to (a) means we will close your account; it does not affect anything done before.

4. Who sees your data

  • The clinics you choose. A clinic sees your details, your pets and bookings only after you join it or book with it, or if you were already its pet parent.
  • Your pet's history at another clinic is shown to a new clinic only if both you turn on sharing for that pet and the clinic that wrote the records has allowed sharing. Otherwise the new clinic sees only that records exist elsewhere, not what they say or where. You can turn sharing off on your pet's page at any time.
  • Service providers who help us run the app, only for that purpose:
    • Render (USA) - hosting, database and files
    • Groq (USA) - the AI model that writes ScoobyPaw's answers (see section 5)
    • Meta Platforms - WhatsApp messages; our email provider - emails and sign-in codes
    • Your browser's speech service - when you use the microphone, your browser (for example Google Chrome) turns your voice into text and reads answers aloud; we receive only the text
    • OpenStreetMap and Google Maps - maps and directions when you open them
  • When the law requires it, for example a valid order from a court or government authority.

We never sell your personal data and never share it with advertisers.

5. How ScoobyPaw AI uses your data

To answer you, the text of your question and the details needed to answer it (for example your pet's name, recent visits and vaccines) are sent to our AI provider, Groq, which returns an answer. They are used to produce that answer only, not to build an advertising profile. ScoobyPaw gives general guidance and explains records; it does not diagnose or prescribe. Read the AI disclaimer.

6. Where your data is stored

Our providers run servers outside India, including in the United States. We send them only what they need, they protect data with industry-standard security, and we will stop any transfer to a country the Government of India restricts.

7. How we protect it

  • All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as one-way hashes - our team cannot see them.
  • Each clinic's data is kept separate; a clinic cannot see another clinic's records unless the sharing rules in section 4 are met.
  • Logins are locked after repeated wrong passwords, and forms are protected against spam.
  • If there is a personal data breach we will report it to CERT-In within 6 hours, and inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

8. How long we keep it

  • Your account, pets and chats: while your account is open, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • After you delete your account: we erase your ScoobyPaw AI data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep.
  • Clinic records (visits, prescriptions) belong to the clinic's own medical record and stay with that clinic under its rules.
  • Bills and payment records: 8 years, as Indian tax law requires.
  • Security and error logs: at least 1 year, as Indian rules require.

9. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask for a summary of your data and who it was shared with, ask us to correct or update it, ask us to erase it, withdraw consent, nominate someone to act for you if you die or cannot act, and complain to us and then to the Data Protection Board of India. See Your data & account deletion for how.

10. Children

You must be 18 or older to create a ScoobyPaw AI account. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has registered, write to us and we will delete the account.

11. Grievance Officer and contact

AI disclaimer

🚨 Emergency? Don't wait for an app. Contact a vet straight away if your pet has trouble breathing, collapses, has a seizure, keeps vomiting, has blood in vomit or stool, is badly injured, can't pass urine, has a swollen hard belly, or may have eaten poison (chocolate, grapes, rat poison, human medicine).

What ScoobyPaw AI is

ScoobyPaw AI is an assistant that helps pet parents understand their pet's records and get general pet care information. It uses an AI language model to write answers.

What it is not

  • It is not a veterinarian and does not examine your pet.
  • It does not diagnose illness or prescribe medicine or doses.
  • It is not a substitute for a consultation, and it is not an emergency service.

Where answers come from

Each answer shows its source:

  • From your pet's record - explained from what your clinic recorded. If the record is wrong or out of date, the answer will be too. Your clinic is the right place to correct it.
  • From your clinic - from information your clinic gave, such as timings or services.
  • General information - general pet care knowledge written by AI. It is not about your pet specifically.

Things to know

  • AI can be wrong, miss something important, or sound more certain than it should.
  • Answers in Kannada, Hindi and other languages are produced by AI and may have translation mistakes. If something is unclear, ask again or ask in English.
  • Voice typing can mishear words. Check what was typed before you rely on the answer.
  • Never give your pet human medicine, or change a prescribed dose, because of an AI answer. Ask your vet.
  • Suggested clinics and booking buttons are a convenience, not a recommendation of one vet over another.

Your data

Your question and the details needed to answer it are sent to our AI provider (Groq, USA) to produce the answer. See the Privacy Policy.

Report a wrong or unsafe answer

Write to ratnakololagi@scoobycares.com or WhatsApp +91 97410 68445 with what you asked. We review every report.
